Project Summary
Art Sanctuary’s Celebration of Black Writing & Arts Festival is one of the nation’s longest running literary events of its kind. Perfection Events liaised with varied stakeholders (members, authors, artists, board, partners, committees, and the public) to design and execute festival programming that appropriately represented their commitment to making excellence in the arts accessible to the underserved community. PE was initially engaged for the momentous 30th Year Anniversary to provide strategic redesign and project management services for the entire month-long festival (15+ events ranging in audiences from 20 – 1,000), as well as produce the culminating Lifetime Achievement Awards Show featuring chart-topping artists. After achieving tremendous success, we were reengaged for future years for project management and full production of the entire month of events.
Results
All set objectives were attained including surpassing profitability goals by more than 20% (year over year), significantly increasing and strengthening the caliber of the organization’s volunteer base, broadening the core audience and reach by more than 5,000 participants, and creating a deep sense of inclusion and positively impacting the community Art Sanctuary serves.
We initially engaged Perfection Events in 2012 to produce a celebratory fundraiser. Entrusting Mazda and her team with the project management and production of our month-long festival was a natural progression in our partnership. They have truly become a part of our team, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with such professionals. Our organization is stronger because of our work with Perfection Events. —Valerie V. Gay, Executive Director
